Instructions for gathering food:

Please be safe!  Constantly supervise boys going to and from the vehicle.

Suggest beginning at 9 or 10 a.m.  Knock on doors till 11:30 and then drive through your area to pick up any other food on doorsteps.  I know it is a lot more work to knock on doors but the quantity of food gathered is considerably more.

Boys can say something like:

“Hello, I am _________from Boy/Cub Scout Pack/Troop _____.  We are gathering food for Scouting For Food.  Would you like to donate any canned goods?”

Do not gather food from areas that are not in your designated areas.

Thank you.  The need for this food is even more urgent than last year!

Julie

I have distributed flyers to Kuna & Caldwell leaders for the food drive. They can be contacted for them now. We are still working out the drop site for Caldwell, Marsing, Homedale. Please check the this side for where drops will be made. Middleton will drop where they did last year. Contact Sarah Despain., I have the flyers at my office--Nampa Dental Health Center, 109 12th Ave Rd, Nampa, ID 83686--for Nampa area. I will be handing them out Thurs, Fri & Sat am. Please note: drop off place for Nampa has been changed to the Nampa First Church of the Nazarene (between 6th & 7th streets at 14 Ave South, you will have less traffic problems if you enter from 6th street which is the side Central School is on. ). This is due to a logistic problem & will give us much more room to handle the food coming in.

The flyer is a half page, with a small hole in the upper left corner (no bag stuffing) but must be secured either by a small rubber band thru the hole & onto the door knob or secured in the door someway, so they don’t blow away.

Please get the word out to your volunteers & Scouts.,,Russ Pool, email:russ633@cableone.net
